Angelica’s Area Spotlight: 2017 Canada Day in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region

Not only is it Canada Day this coming Saturday, July 1st, 2017, but it’s also a rather special one, as it will be the 150th time the day has been celebrated. Obviously, this milestone calls for more festivals, fun, food, and fireworks than ever before and the Kitchener – Waterloo Region does not intend to disappoint. Here’s a look at just some of the events coming up this holiday weekend.

Where to See the Fireworks

It really wouldn’t be a Canada Day weekend without lots of cracks, bangs, and pops. The good news is that there are a number of great firework displays to choose from being staged across the region. On Canada Day itself, Saturday, you have more than a few fireworks spectaculars to choose from:

  • Downtown Kitchener Fireworks. Display starts at 10.15pm at 200 King Street West, Kitchener

  • Fireworks at the University of Waterloo. Celebrations begin at dusk, fireworks go off around 10 pm. Head to Columbia Lake Fields to join in the fun.
